Copy Tip of the Week
Good copywriting is about balance.
Set expectations, but at the same time, keep your readers curious.
Use analogies, but at the same time, get straight to the point.
Avoid repetition, but at the same time, repeat key points.
Be persuasive, but at the same time, don’t be manipulative.
The tension is there for a reason.
Compelling copywriting doesn’t exist without it.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK
💬 I asked this question on LinkedIn earlier this week. Current polls say: 86% of you work fully remote, 14% are hybrid, and 0% work in office.

Must-Read Articles
Must-See Apparel & Accessories Trends from the 2024 State of eCommerce Report (via Klaviyo)
Why I recommend it: Write for a brand that’s in fashion, apparel, beauty, or something adjacent? These insights are for you. Learn what consumers want to see from brands and how to shift your marketing strategy to align with their needs!
Last Chance Email Subject Lines (via SendGrid)
Why I recommend it: Who doesn’t love a hyper-niche article? This one is dedicated solely to the subject lines of last minute sales and campaigns. What gets your reader’s attention? What can boost performance and conversions? More importantly, how can you use these this BFCM season?
The Only BFCM Guide You Need to Drive Holiday Revenue Throughout the Customer Journey (via Okendo)
Why I recommend it: Holy moly, what a goldmine of FREE info to help you slay the holiday sale season! Run an eCommerce brand? This article is for you. Run a DTC agency? This article is for you. Freelance for clients in the eComm space? This article is for you. I like how they set up the entire flow of their recommendations (acquisition > conversion > retention). There’s value here for everyone.
BRAIN DRIVEN BRANDS
The Psychology of Price: How to Influence with Numbers
⏰ 18 minutes
Why I recommend it: Have you heard that when listing prices of products or services, you should always end your price with a 7 or a 9? Is that really the best method for pricing? Does it really get people to click “add to cart” or “buy now”? Well, it depends… (listen here).
Pretty Fly Copy
HOWLER BROS
Format: Email
Why I like it: It’s the rule of one in play. Unlike a lot of their emails, they geared this one toward a specific audience (e.g. tradesmen and professional hobbyists). The benefit of doing that? Everything else in the email from the subject line to the product call outs is geared toward that one type of person.
CASELY
Format: Email
Why I like it: I like it because it’s a dead simple sale email. It’s a great example of using a relatable moment (first day of fall – sweater weather) to launch a relevant offer. Too many brands overcomplicate things. Casely never does.
CALDERA + LAB
Format: Email
Why I like it: Want to see the AIDA framework in action? This email does a great job demonstrating this framework: subject line > preview line > headline > CTA. It then sort of repeats the framework once more. I don’t know who C+L’s copywriter is nowadays, but they do great work!
EMIRATES
Format: Static Ad
Why I like it: A great example of headlines and imagery doing some stellar teamwork.
