Copy Tip of the Week
Running a sale? Advertising a limited-time offer?
👉 Opt for durations instead of calendar dates.
It’s all about moving time vs. the moving observer.
Think: active vs. passive.
If you give someone “2 days” or “72 hours” to complete something, it inherently motivates them. Why? Because time is moving toward them.
If you give someone until “July 30th” to complete the same task, they’ll put it off. Why? Because the time feels stationary. They’re moving toward it, not the other way around.
Keep that in mind you give someone a deadline to use a coupon code.

A Compelling Story that Sells (DTC/Pilothouse)
If you’re a copywriter, then you know that stories sell. In fact, crafting a narrative customers/prospects can identify with is valuable in and of itself. It’s harder for DTC brands to pull this off, but guess what? It’s not impossible. This was a great read for any copywriter in the eComm space.Digital Marketing Tests to Run Prior to BFCM (Oracle)
Is it too early to start thinking about BFCM? NEVER! There are some great strategies shared here for both copywriters and strategists to consider.Do longer or shorter subject lines work better?

It boils down to this: TEST, TEST, TEST, and TEST some more!
[Case Study] Jenni Kayne + Klaviyo = Strategy Success (Klaviyo)
Imagine if you could send fewer emails while growing revenue at the same time. It’s not a pipe dream, fam — it actually happened. I love the 3 tactics Jenni Kayne employed, especially the third one. 👀
Pretty Fly Copy
Good copywriting is everywhere. Here are a few examples that grabbed my attention this week:
[Email] Pakt
I like the way the Pakt team’s building hype around their product release. Instead of teasing the product, they’re showcasing it in detail. This particular email promotes the primary product’s accessories. Pretty cool. This idea would work great for brands with limited SKUs.
[Email] American Giant
On theme for the summer, I like the way AG created summer outfits using their product line. I thought the way they’re describing each product and the design of those descriptions is cool too.
[Email] Postable
LOVED this browse abandon from Postable. It’s stupid simple. And the ‘star’ around the dynamic image is a rotating GIF. Um… YES, CHEF!
