Copy Tip of the Week
Need to drive up your click-thru rate?
Try piquing your reader’s curiosity.
A simple way to do this is to ask questions without providing any answers – tell them where to get them instead (this would be your CTA).
Identify a common pain point and find a way to position your product as a solution. But again, don’t name your product, lead your reader to where they can discover it for themself.
Must-Read Articles
Email Marketing Best Practices in 2024 (via Insider)
Why I recommend it:
Hundreds of BILLIONS of emails are sent daily – are you sure yours are standing out in the inbox? While there is some entry-level information at the top of the article, there are useful insights a bit further down, especially as it relates to personalized content and the use of AI in email.
9 Reasons Customers Churn and How to Course Correct (via Klaviyo)
Why I recommend it:
Now that the holidays are over, many eComm brands are staring at the very real possibility of customer churn. From dissatisfaction to customer experience and more, Klaviyo offers some great recommendations for keeping your customers around for a little bit longer.
Google + Yahoo Sender Requirements for 2024 (via Klaviyo)
Why I recommend it:
On the off-chance you’ve been sleeping under a rock for the last month, then you need to know Google and Yahoo have changed their sender requirements for 2024! Don’t want your emails to land in spam? Klaviyo shows you how to avoid the inbox death-spiral.
Pretty Fly Copy
WARBY PARKER
Format: Email
Why I like it: There are a few things. First, I love how the overall theme of the campaign is to showcase their value props. The GIF format is brilliant. Second, I like the “more than meets the eye” headline. Super on-brand. And third, the primary CTA (at the bottom) is simple but actionable.
RUGGABLE
Format: Email
Why I like it: Most end of sale campaigns are kind of a drag, including some that I’ve written. They’re reminders of the offer, scream something like “last chance, pal!” and that’s that. This one turns the whole thing into a conversation. Brilliant move. Kudos to their copywriter.
REFORMATION
Format: Email
Why I like it: I discovered this beauty from Email Love’s newsletter (worth subscribing to). Funny. Witty. And 100% puts the ball in the subscriber’s court. Not to mention, the copy is simple AF.
